Andrew's Robotics Exhibition

Andrew's school participated in the Lego Mindstorms Mania Robotics Exhibition at a local Austin High School recently. Very cool stuff to see.

Lake Travis

This weekend, we had friends of the twins, the Cohorns and Hammontrees, in from Houston and Louisiana. We decided to head out to Lake Travis on Saturday afternoon for some sun. The lake was beautiful, especially since it's level has come up significantly with all the rain we've had. The kids had a blast, and the weather was perfect: not too hot, since the summer heat hasn't kicked in yet.

Andrew and Cole Get Dunked

The twins decided last week that it was time for them to make their faith public by being baptized. We went to a baptism/new members celebration for our church last night. I had the option to do the dunking myself, but since Alyx had been baptized by our pastor in Louisiana a few years ago, I decided to let our pastor here do the honors. I didn't want Alyx to feel slighted, and it was something I struggled with all week long. Well, by the time it was their turn, I decided to ditch the plan and jump in feet first, literally. It was really a special time, and of course Alyx was happy with my decision, not to mention Stacy and the boys.

I'm glad I did it, and am proud of the boys' bold statement.

Alyx's Prom

Alyx had her prom this past Saturday night. She opted for the "have more fun with friends" option and went with 3 friends. Needless to say, she was gorgeous (the girl who did her makeup took photos for her portfolio). They headed downtown for dinner at a neat little Italian place that Stacy and I had been to. Then on to the Moroccan-themed prom at the downtown convention center.

I'll post some better pics when we get them. One of the girls' mom is a professional photographer, so Alyx should look even better than my shot reveals.
